Demokratische Republik Kongo
The Democratic Republic of the Congo lies in central Africa, in the basin of the Congo River, with a short stretch of Atlantic coastline. The second largest country on the continent, it is home to around 250 ethnic groups, including the Kongo, Luba and Mongo. The capital, Kinshasa, is one of the largest cities in Africa. The tropical climate means high temperatures and heavy rainfall. The best time to visit the DR Congo is the dry season, from June to August, when the weather is most favourable for travel.
